Echoes of Autumn

Poem and copyright by Dr. Jaroslav Simice

Sorrow of autumn leaves
colours betray their hopes
for the wind they wait
Tonight they have to feel
the fury of the storm
and dance above the roof
in the arms of changing fate

Hard frozen shapes of dreams
walk through sleeping gardens
reflecting the rays
of quickly fading sun
Black eyes of windows weep
the earth drinks the sky
loud are the drums of fear
when feelings start to run

Gray madness of the sea
is pounding on the shoreline
echoes of ancient times
follow the breaking waves
Now is the time to read
pages of moving clouds
shadows of dragon wings
poems of rainy days
